Pete Ziskowski is an amazing sales person. He is VERY educated on every model of Subaru and he answered all of my questions precisely. I would recommend Pete to anyone interested in purchasing a Subaru.
This was my third Subaru, but first *brand new* purchase. For those wanting a quick review of my experience, I can categorize working with Mike Bell and Byers Auto as *excellent* and would gladly do business with them again.
I consider myself already acquainted with the Subaru brand, and already understood the quality and type of car (Outback) that I wanted to get, I wasn't sure about the options packages. Mike went over the pros, cons and basic instructions with the enthusiasm of a beginner, although I know he probably does this countless times a day. I had made an appointment for my visit, and Mike took the time to have a couple of comparably equipped cars already waiting side by side for comparison purposes. While I wasn't entirely sold on the options I wanted, Mike helped me choose and listened to what I needed. Here I am three weeks later not regretting a single thing about my purchase; Mike sized my needs up perfectly.
We were able to take our time, be comfortable with everything we discussed and came to a deal later that afternoon. This was a big purchase for us, and I know we were treated fairly and given lots of attention. I know that Mike presented us with some very competitive pricing based on supplemental research and I feel as though everyone walked away happy with this transaction.
Also as a side note to my purchasing experience, I would like to state that I was already a customer at Byers after having moved to this area 5 years ago. They have always serviced my previous Subaru Outback with as much courtesy and attention that was afforded to me on the sales floor. I will follow-up with a specific review for that part of the dealership.
Mike was one of the most knowledgeable and friendliest car salesmen that I've ever worked with. He had an idea of what we were looking for and our price range and that?s what he showed us. He didn?t try to push anything beyond our means. He portrayed a great deal of professionalism throughout the entire process and at the same time is a person you can talk to. I would have no problem recommending Mike to friends and family for future cars.
It was the end of my lease term on a competitor brand vehicle. I really loved that vehicle, except that the V6 engine (which I loved for pick-up but did not love for gas mileage) caused the front wheel drive tires to spin in any road conditions other than dry pavement because the vehicle was lighter weight. I was tired of tensing up and gritting my teeth during adverse conditions. So I was looking for a vehicle with all wheel drive. I researched different brands on the internet on and off for about a year before my lease was due to expire, looking at Consumer Reports reviews, resale values, customer reviews, etc. and I looked around at vehicles on the road to see what I liked. I test drove a couple of other vehicles and looked at several while dealerships were closed. A Subaru was on my list of vehiles to look at because the symetrical all wheel drive piqued my interest, but I was unfamiliar with the brand so looking at pictures on the internet would not suffice; I needed to test drive one. The Outback had recently changed body styles and the change was definitely eye-catching. We stopped at the dealership when it was closed to take a look and decided it was worth a return trip.
Coming back in and working with Mike Bell was a true pleasure. He has an in-depth knowledge of Subaru vehicles and was able to provide detailed information about all of the Outback's features. Having Mike around was like having our own walking, talking operator's manual! And, Mike has a very professional, polite, yet causal ease to him that is quite comforting. He is not the sterotypical "shark" of a car salesman that is such a turn off and makes you immediately not trust them; he was like talking and working with a friend. The overall purchasing experience was wonderful; I did not feel as if I was arm wrestling over the price. I was also offered a better price on my trade-in than any other dealership had offered, allowing for positive equity. The price of all vehicles could be lower in my opinion, but I was able to purchase this Outback instead of lease and still stay within my budget (by giving up a few luxury items I wanted, but did not need), so I am satisfied with the price. Buying a new Subaru at Byer's was a very good & satisfying experience. I do not like the back & forth price dealing that most dealers do. I knew what I wanted & I pretty much got what I wanted. Mike Bell was great about answering all of our questions, explaining all the aspects of our new Outback & helping me purchase some after market items. I absolutely love my new car, I would recommend one to anyone. People that I know who have Subarus have told me how much they like their cars also. I am very happy with mine. I am 73 years old and have beenn married for 47 years. Over that time we have bought between 12 and 15 cars (not sure of the exact number). NEVER has our buying experience been as easy and pleasant as the one with Peter. It started with a telephone call from me to Peter following a frustrating personal visit with a local Subaru dealer. I explained to Peter that our daughter has owned several Subaru's but we had never owned one. Peter listened to me and while we were telling him the make, model and possible colors, he was using his computer to locate the vehicle. He did not hassle us with various prices but rather explained the features of the Legacy. When we went to pick up the car...(three hours away from our home and mind you we had never met him in person)...he was excited to meet us and had everything ready for us. Also, the visits we had from the finance manager and general manager were just as pleasant. And, Peter's follow up phone calls and emails has made me very happy that he cares about us and how we are enjoying our Legacy. I only wish I was in my 50's so that I could buy several more Subaru's from Peter.

After search on the web and speaking to two other dealers I thought I would have to order it and wait. Pete asked for the chance to find the car for me and he did! He was very pleasant to work with and did everything he said he would do. That's all I ask of anyone I work with.
