At Byers Airport Subaru, being part of the community means more to us than simply serving drivers from Columbus and the surrounding area. From Columbus to surrounding areas like Gahanna and New Albany, we are proud to be involved in efforts that bring care, encouragement, and practical help to our neighbors. Our community events reflect the values we believe matter most: compassion, connection, and a genuine commitment to making a difference close to home.
We are grateful for every opportunity to take part in programs that support local children, teachers, patients, and families. Whether we are helping distribute essential items, recognizing educators, encouraging greener neighborhoods, or sharing comfort with those going through difficult moments, each event is a reminder that small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.
One of the most meaningful ways we have been able to give back is through Subaru Loves to Help. Imagine facing the cold without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For many children and adults experiencing homelessness or urgent hardship, that is a very real challenge. At Byers Airport Subaru, we believe a strong community is built on compassion and support, which is why we were proud to partner with Operation Warm® and The Salvation Army Central Ohio Area – Franklin County as part of this important initiative.
Through this effort, we helped support 300 children by donating 144 coats, shoes, and sock combinations to families in need. The donation took place through The Salvation Army at 2300 West Mound Street in Columbus, Ohio. More than basic necessities, these items provide warmth, protection, comfort, and confidence to children who need them most. Being able to contribute to a program with such a direct local impact is something our team deeply values, and it reflects the heart behind our ongoing community involvement.
Teachers make an incredible difference in the lives of students and families throughout our communities, and we were honored to celebrate them during Teacher Appreciation Week with a breakfast catered by Bob Evans. This event was a simple but heartfelt way to recognize the dedication, patience, and hard work that educators bring to their classrooms every day.
At Byers Airport Subaru, we know strong schools help build strong communities. That is true across Columbus and throughout nearby areas like Westerville, Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, and Lancaster. Hosting a teacher appreciation breakfast gave us the chance to say thank you to the people who invest so much in the next generation. We were proud to create a welcoming moment for local educators and show our appreciation in a personal and thoughtful way.
Another event we were proud to host was our Subaru Loves the Earth® tree giveaway. By partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation™, we were able to provide 200 free mature trees to help keep local neighborhoods green and thriving. The event took place in our showroom on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and it was exciting to see community members come together in support of a healthier environment.
This event was about more than giving away trees. It was about encouraging long-term care for the places we all call home. Every tree represents cleaner air, stronger neighborhoods, and a lasting investment in the future of our area. We were thankful to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a success. It was a great example of what can happen when a community rallies around a shared goal.
As part of Subaru Loves to Care, Byers Airport Subaru was also honored to provide blankets to Mount Carmel. This effort was centered on one simple idea: small gestures can make a big difference. In times of uncertainty or recovery, comfort matters, and even something as simple as a blanket can offer warmth and reassurance to someone who needs it.
We are proud to support organizations that care for members of our community during vulnerable moments. Giving back in this way reflects our continued commitment to comfort, kindness, and connection.
